Already in spring 2017, the hpl-Group registered an increase in incoming orders involving the synchronous manufacture of sophisticated lines for the machining and processing of strips. At the same time, the management of Neuenhauser Group of companies decided to transfer the division dealing with the assembly of large components, from Neuenhaus to Neugnadenfeld due to an increasing lack of space. A decision which required an extension of the existing assembly area at the headquarters of the hpl-Group of which the company management immediately took care. Within a short period of only four months, assembly hall 3 has been extended by 28m to the front providing an additional assembly area of 370m². Additional space especially required for the assembly of large components has been provided this way within the shortest possible time. Even the handling of those components weighing several tons has been considered during the hall extension planning phase with the purchase of a 40 tons double girder overhead travelling crane by ABUS. Due to its load capacity of 40 tons, the new double girder overhead travelling crane represents a forward-looking investment made at the headquarters of the hpl-group to continue optimising the process of manufacture and assembly.
The investments in an extension of the existing assembly area and a new 40 tons double girder overhead travelling crane have been made "in order to ensure that we stay competitive all over the world and are able to react quickly and flexibly to an increase in incoming orders", declares Thorsten Dirks, managing director of the hpl-Group.
